Jamie Davis is a true Alaskan! While she may not have been born here, Alaska is definitely now her forever home.
She spends her summers (halibut fishing of course!) adventuring around Alaska, fishing countless streams, hiking big glaciers and steep trails, and winters trapping, hunting, and most recently cross country skiing.
Somehow she still finds time to make sure she gets to the gym everyday.
Jamie was born Colorado but raised in Washington to military parents, so she grew up with that common nomadic military life. Nearly 10 years ago she moved to the extremely remote Afognak Island, north of Kodiak, Alaska where she managed travel and freight logistics for an Alaskan logging company’s remote operations.
It didn’t take long for Jamie to decide Alaska was her forever home and when operations on Afognak came to an end, she moved to the Kenai Peninsula where she currently lives with her two dogs.
Since moving to the Peninsula, Jamie has worked for several outdoor adventure and lodging companies. She’s been involved with the tourism industry and a lot of different capacities and is always excited to share her favorite trips and adventures.
From flight-seeing to white water rafting to salmon fishing on the famous Kenai River, Jamie is skilled at matching visitors to their perfect activities.
And with her logging background on Afognak Island is it any wonder one of the dogs is named “Timber?” Seems pretty fitting.
During the off-season and her days off, which aren’t too many in the peak of summer, you will likely find Jamie exploring the Peninsula’s picturesque landscape.
She is passionate about the outdoors and loves hiking, fishing, hunting with her two labrador retrievers, Sterling & Timber
