Captain Jimmy Counts is a U.S. Coast Guard licensed Captain. He enjoys quality family time, traveling and good food!
When he’s not in Alaska, Jimmy owns and operates a charter fishing business in South Carolina and is an IGFA Tournament Referee. He also enjoyes hunting and is an open water certified NAUI and TDI/SDI scuba diver.
Born in Tennessee, Jimmy was raised in a military family living primarily in Ft Walton Beach FL and Anchorage AK.
His environment helped shape his love of everything outdoors. Jimmy also honorably served over 25 years in the U.S. Air Force and retired in 2016.

Jimmy finds Halibut fishing as a thrill that takes perseverance.
His success is driven by constant map study and an understanding of environmental factors that impact when and where fish want to be. Having clients on the boat is a wonderful opportunity to witness someone catch their first Halibut and potentially the largest fish of their life.
